Hold you

They may say not to hold you but I don’t care.

I’ll hold you and squeeze you,

Run my fingers thru your hair.

I’ll rock you to sleep,

Sing you lullabies.

And always make sure,

To kiss you goodbye.

I’ll never let you cry for hours on end,

Because there isn’t much

That momma can’t mend.

We’ll have our fights.

I’m sure there’ll be screams.

But I’ll always be there,

No matter the means.

I know there will come a day,

When you don’t want me around.

So, for now, sweet girl,

I will hold you.

I won’t put you down.
